Information We Collect

Account information

If you create or use a Topic Sentry account, we may collect account identifiers such as your email address, authentication provider identifier, user ID, and related login information needed to operate your account.

Topic and app content

Topic Sentry stores information you create, request, or receive in the app, including monitored topic titles, topic descriptions, generated summaries, topic updates, source links, refresh history, notification history, and related app data needed to provide the service.

Subscription and purchase information

If you purchase a subscription, Google Play processes your payment. Topic Sentry may receive and store subscription status, product identifiers, purchase tokens, entitlement status, and related billing metadata needed to activate and manage your subscription. Topic Sentry does not receive your full payment card information.

Device, notification, and diagnostic information

Topic Sentry may collect device and app information such as app version, operating system version, device identifiers used for notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, crash reports, diagnostic logs, server logs, IP addresses, and information needed to secure, debug, and operate the service.

If the app provides a crash reporting setting, your setting controls whether optional crash reporting is enabled where applicable.

Support communications

If you contact us for support, we may collect the information you provide, including your email address and the contents of your message.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Monitor topics you create.
• Generate source-linked summaries and updates.
• Send notifications about topic updates.
• Manage subscriptions and paid features.

AI and Content Processing

Topic Sentry uses automated systems to retrieve, process, summarize, and compare public information related to the topics you create. Topic titles, topic descriptions, source material, generated summaries, and related metadata may be processed by backend services and third-party service providers as needed to provide summaries, updates, and notifications.

Do not submit confidential, sensitive, or private personal information as a monitored topic unless you are comfortable with that information being processed to provide the service.

How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Topic Sentry, including cloud hosting providers, database providers, authentication providers, notification services, billing services, crash reporting services, analytics or diagnostics services, AI/model providers, infrastructure providers, and support providers.

We may also share information when required by law, to protect users or the service, to investigate abuse or security issues, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide Topic Sentry, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and operate the service.

You may delete topics in the app where deletion features are available. You may also contact us to request account or data deletion.

We may retain limited information where necessary for security, fraud prevention, billing records, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our terms.

Before requesting account deletion, you may need to cancel any active Google Play subscription through Google Play.

When we process an account deletion request, we will delete or de-identify account data associated with your Topic Sentry account unless retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, billing records, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our terms.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. Data is transmitted using secure transport such as HTTPS/TLS where applicable. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children

Topic Sentry is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Topic Sentry, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

Your Choices

You may:

• Delete topics where supported in the app.
• Manage notification permissions through your device settings.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play.
• Adjust optional crash reporting settings where available in the app.
• Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other support regarding your information.

International Processing

Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.
